Shahid Kapoor reveals people believed very few would watch Kabir Singh, now mummies and kids call it their favourite film

Shahid Kapoor has revealed that back when Kabir Singh was about to release, there were people who thought that not everybody would watch the movie. He then went on to spill that he has heard mummies and kids call it their favourite film today. Shahid, who is promoting his upcoming film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya in Delhi currently, reacted to the same and it is unmissable.

“Very few people will watch Kabir Singh”

Shahid was at the HT City office when he shared the news. He spilled that back when Kabir Singh first released in theatres, people believed that very few would watch the movie. Of course, the rest is history. The recreated version from Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy was equally successful, if not more. The movie, while bashed, was one of the highest grossing films of the year.

“Mummies and kids call it their favourite film”

There are quite controversial views on Kabir Singh. While a section is absolutely against the concept of the movies, others love it. The same has been discussed quite often. Shahid also revealed during the same interview, “Now mummies and kids are saying that it is their favourite film. I also went like why are kids watching the movie.”

People consider Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya ‘adult film?’

Shahid hinted that people have been considering Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya as an adult film. He referred to Kabir Singh and said that even with the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial, people assumed that it was an adult film. Of course, there was a lot more to Kabir Singh than the few intimate moments and those who had watched Arjun Reddy knew about the same.
