In a recent interview, Shahid Kapoor discussed his thoughts on the fine line that exists between being a star and an actor, particularly in the entertainment business. The actor shared his thoughts on the subject, having struggled throughout his career to decide between being an actor and a star.
While promoting his upcoming film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya Shahid talked about Hrithik Roshan's statement and revealed that he would never let the actor in him go away at the cost of stardom.

In an interview with Film Companion, Shahid Kapoor stated, "I have the opposite problem." He said that he didn't want to stop being an actor. So he gives up fame sometimes. "I think I am on the other side of the fence. I have the opposite problem. I am like, ‘Yeah, I know what he is saying, I get it because sometimes it is like that’. It is also the nature of films that we do, the choices we make, the graph that each one of us chooses. I think, in that, his journey is very different to mine," he added.
The actor clarified that he would never choose fame over acting by using Amitabh Bachchan and Dilip Kumar as examples. He said that there are several instances of both clear stardom and demanding acting roles. "I have grown up watching that and I aspire for that. I would not let the actor in me go. That’s not just something I would do. I won’t," he added.
Recently, Hrithik Roshan made a statement that being a star comes with a burden. Hrithik stated that taking on the role of a star is unhealthy in many many ways. “The star is the responsibility. I am very grateful for it, don’t get me wrong, I am very thankful this is something I cherish. I know it’s been given to me, it’s a gift but it’s a burden that I carry. And, I have to work very hard to thrive." He said that it's a journey and he wants to thrive in the industry and not just survive. When there are no expectations, as an actor, Hrithik said that he feels incredibly at ease.
