The Raj and DK directorial web series Farzi, a web debut of Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor, is releasing on February 10
Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor who is making his debut in the web space with the upcoming web series titled Farzi says the character he is playing in the show is quite relatable for him. He feels it is the pulse of the youngsters of today.
His character is that of an angry young artist with the greed to earn money. He wants to become filthy rich as soon as possible. In an interview with IndianExpress.com, the actor expressed that he understands the character and anger of such youngsters.
As a part of the interview, the actor said, "Every youngster today feels he is not being understood, he is not getting an opportunity. They all have that angst inside them – of wanting to show everyone what they are capable of. Sometimes the right way, sometimes the wrong way."
He also said that it was very relatable, for him personally. Taking the reference of one of the dialogues from the show that is seen in the trailer, Shahid said, "And it’s like (as mentioned in the show), we are not middle class we are the middle finger class – the widest class in the country is not getting what they deserve," and according to the actor such situation is making a whole generation all the more frustrated.
The actor also mentioned that he always wanted to work with Raj and DK especially after watching their work on OTT like the much-celebrated web series The Family Man.
He said, "I had already seen their work and what they were doing with long format and OTT. I loved their work and so, wanted to collaborate (with them). When they told me about this – we had actually discussed this as a film earlier."
Eventually, the makers came back to him with the role of a young artist Sunny, that Shahid is playing in the series.
The show also features Vijay Sethupathi, Raashi Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Amol Palekar, Bhuvan Arora, Zakir Hussain, Regina Cassandra and Kubbra Sait among others. It is all set to be released on Amazon Prime Video on February 10.
