Shahid Kapoor, one of the most versatile actors in the industry, has been delivering some fine performances. He is currently gearing up for the release of his next film opposite Kriti Sanon a romantic story titled 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.' Even before the release of his upcoming film, Shahid is reportedly in talks with budding director Amit Rai for an epic saga on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Reports suggest that it will be among the most expensive films in Indian cinema, aiming to celebrate the great and royal life of Shivaji Maharaj.

According to Pinkvilla reports, Shahid is in advanced talks with the 'OMG 2' director for the historical biographical drama on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film will be made under the banner of Wakaoo Films and produced by Ashwin Varde. A source close to the development revealed, “Shahid and Ashwin have been in talks for a film based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for a while now, and things are slowly falling into place."
Following multiple discussions with Amit Rai, Shahid feels that the director is the perfect fit for his epic on the legend of Indian history.
The film will narrate the bravest chapters of the warrior's life, and the makers are currently searching for a top studio to kickstart the pre-production process. “While Shahid has agreed in principle to spearhead the film, all the paperwork and announcements will happen once a studio comes on board with the project. The makers are in talks with several top studios and financiers to associate themselves with the film,” added the source.
