The Bloody Daddy actor feels that the present generation of actors has to deal with many more challenges
If you've watched Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham's Pathaan (you must be living under a rock if you haven't), then did you pay attention to the post-credit scene of director Siddharth Anand's film?

In the scene, SRK as Pathaan and Salman Khan as Tiger speak about retiring. While on the surface level, it seems like they are talking about retiring as spies from their respective films, on a deeper level, it can be interpreted as the two superstars contemplating retiring as actors and letting the younger lot of Bollywood actors take over.
But to everyone's relief, both Shah Rukh and Salman slammed the idea of retirement because "desh ka sawal hai" (we need to think about the country).
Now, both the Khans are undeniably irreplaceable, and Shahid Kapoor also seems to believe this.
Speaking with News18.com, Shahid said that Salman and Shah Rukh "can't be replaced".
The Bloody Daddy actor added that it is almost impossible for any of the younger actors to achieve the kind of stardom that SRK and Bhai have enjoyed. He gave two reasons for this: the younger stars are way more exposed, thanks to social media, and there are many more venues of entertainment today beyond films.
Of course, Shahid wasn't slamming actors from this generation. Mentioning young stars like Varun Dhawan and Vicky Kaushal, he added, "I respect the actors of this generation, and some of them have done phenomenal work." He said that earlier, an actor could get away with delivering one hit film out of six films, but that is not the case now. So, the present generation of actors has to deal with many more challenges.
Highlighting the fact that, at the end of the day, it is the content that matters, Shahid said, "You might be the biggest superstar, but your films can flop. So, it’s content that speaks."
