Shahid Kapoor confirms his action project Bull, directed by newcomer Aditya Nimbalkar, has been put on hold
Meanwhile, Jersey also starring Pankaj Kapur and Mrunal Thakur, will be out in cinemas on April 14.

Shahid Kapoor’s Bull which was announced last year and would have had the actor play a paratrooper Brigadier Farukh Bulsara, has been shelved for now. Kapoor confirmed this development in a recent media interview.
“I don’t think it has been officially announced,” Kapoor told Pinkvilla and added that Bull had been a “logistical nightmare due to COVID”.
The actor, who is readying for the release of his sports drama Jersey this month, added that the makers have to “figure out” how to move forward with the project as it demands “a certain scale.” He explained that the team is yet to “sit down and see” if it is possible to make the film at the moment.
Bull was scheduled for an April 3, 2023 release but with the progress halted, it is unknown when the film will see the light of day. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Garima Mehta and Amar Butala, the 1980’s-set film is said to be inspired by real-life events.
Newcomer Aditya Nimbalkar (writer on Talvar and second unit director on Pataakha, Rangoon, Haider, Kaminey) was announced as director of Bull last year. Producers T-Series had described it as one of the “biggest action films” to come from them.
Bull written by Parveez Shaikh and Aseem Arrora, is also the first collaboration between T-Series and Guilty by Association.
Meanwhile, Jersey also starring Pankaj Kapur and Mrunal Thakur will be out in cinemas on April 14. Here, Kapoor will be seen as a former cricketer who tries to revive his sporting career in his last 30s. The film is the Hindi remake of the 2019 Nani-starrer and is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri.
Among Kapoor’s other upcoming films is an untitled actioner helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar and his digital debut with an Amazon Prime Video drama thriller series by Raj & DK. Besides Kapoor, the series will also star Vijay Sethupathi and Raashii Khanna.
