Anees Bazmee’s recent directorial Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 witnessed a phenomenal run at the box office, raking in more than Rs 200 crores during its theatrical run. Shahid Kapoor’s recent innings came in the form of Jersey, with his performance in the film garnering praise. Now it seems the filmmaker and actor are joining hands for a film soon.
According to a report in TOI, the director spoke of how he was looking for stories that excite him for his next film, after the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. He revealed that Kapoor had agreed to do a film with him a long time ago and that the duo have been talking about it for quite a while now. As soon as they get the right story, they will start working on the film straight away. Bazmee also said that he had been friends with the actor for the past several years now.
Speaking of how he was working on about three or four subjects right now, Bazmee revealed that he would pick a story he liked and would start working on it within a month or so. He said that he would love to work with Kapoor soon, calling the latter a ‘damn good actor’. The filmmaker spoke of how Kapoor had once said that Bazmee made great films and that they should work together at some point. Bazmee was also full of praise for Kapoor, saying “He is a complete actor and I loved his performance in Jersey.’’
The news comes after reports that Varun Dhawan would also collaborate with Bazmee for a comedy film soon. Addressing the same, the filmmaker said that he and Dhawan are looking forward to a collaboration. Bazmee said that he was just waiting on making a decision about which subject he should work on first and which actors to cast.
