Shahid Kapoor recently said that he always chases complex characters. The actor also mentioned that Kabir Singh (the character) exists within him.
Shahid Kapoor recently opened up about playing various characters on the big screen. The actor has essayed diverse roles in films like Kaminey, Udta Punjab, and Kabir Singh. At the Forbes India Leadership Awards, Shahid mentioned that his film characters have nothing to do with him in real life. However, the actor admitted that Kabir from his 2019 film Kabir Singh 'exists within him'.
At the event, Shahid Kapoor stated that he wouldn't say a romantic hero is like him and Kabir Singh is not like him. "There is a little crazy inside me somewhere, so that Kabir is existing within me, deep down. Those crazy streaks are there within me as an actor, so I chase complex characters," admitted Kapoor.
The actor further said that his idea is to be part of stories and play different characters, who represent different aspects of human behaviour and society. For the uninitiated, Shahid was always termed as the 'chocolate boy' after he made his Bollywood debut with Ishq Vishq.
