Shaheen, for the unfamiliar, is the sister of superstar Alia Bhatt. Shaheen and Alia are daughters of legendary actors Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan.
Shaheen Bhatt on nepotism
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Shaheen Bhatt opened up about facing constant public scrutiny. She even shared how she and Alia live in such an environment. Shaheen said, “I honestly think that she (Alia) doesn't need help in that sense. I think that we are all very aware of the fact that we are very lucky and privileged. We are just very lucky. If you are in the public eye, I think it comes with a certain understanding that the public is going to talk about you. There are things that are going to be said around you. Past a certain point, that's okay. It's part of your job. She knows who she is. We know who we are and there is a certain amount of noise that does not penetrate.”
Shaheen Bhatt also shared that she was overwhelmed seeing her sister dressed as a bride on her wedding day. She said that she was so emotional that she didn’t remember how her parents reacted seeing Alia decked up as the bride.
Not only this, but Shaheen also talked about her struggle with depression during her childhood days. She said she is lucky to have parents like Mahesh and Soni who understood what she went through and motivated her to go for therapy.
