Shah Rukh Khan's response to Atlee's Jawan release buzz: ‘Kept awake to see you go to the theatre’

Atlee’s Jawan features Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra and Priya Mani in lead roles

Shah Rukh Khan's hugely-awaited film Jawan released today, attracting a massive audience to the theatres across the country. The Atlee-directed film is the superstar’s second this year and also features South superstars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi.

Prior to the release, trade analysts had predicted the film to surpass the box office earnings of Pathaan, his first film in 2023. This anticipation has been supported by enthusiastic internet reactions and celebratory videos shared by the audience from inside and outside theatres from early morning.

Twitter reaction to Jawan

A Twitter user, Baba Yoga, posted this video from outside the cinema hall where a large crowd can be seen, hooting and throwing gulal in the air. He captioned the post with, “Biggest Megastar of Bollywood ever, crowd is crazy for SRK, unreal madness.”

Another user, Just a Fan, tweeted a video of fans dancing and mingling with the crowd as Shah Rukh dances on the screen with actresses Sanya Malhotra and Priya Mani in song Zinda Banda. The fans are seen throwing confetti in the air while others dance on the stage with the actor.

Posting a review of the film by calling it a masterpiece, blend of emotion and mass action film, user MoSha posted a video of the Zinda Banda song.

Shah Rukh Khan's response to fan frenzy

Taking note of these videos, Shah Rukh replied to a video posted by user, Shah Rukh Khan Universe Fan Club, showcasing the audience taking banners to cinema halls and chanting “Bharat ki shan Shah Rukh Khan (Shah Rukh Khan is the pride of the nation)”. The actor reposted to it and said, “Love u boys and girls I hope u enjoy the entertainment. Kept awake to see u go to the theater. Big love and thanks.”

Supporting cast

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan released worldwide in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil on September 7. Alongside the Bollywood superstar, the film has an ensemble cast comprising of Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priya Mani and Sanya Malhotra, with Deepika Padukone making a cameo appearance in the film. Touted to be a mass action-entertainer, it features SRK in a double role. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the film’s music.
