Pathaan stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the lead roles.
It was none other than 'Pathaan' Shah Rukh Khan who orchestrated Bollywood's comeback on that fateful day. He took some time—in fact, a lot of time—since his previous commercial success, which was more than five years ago. Yet when he made a come back, he did it in line with his usual manner, and the results are clear and outstanding.
Pathaan has already eclipsed the lifetime earnings of the Hindi-dubbed version of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (511 crores), making it the biggest Hindi release ever. Its current value is 511.70 crores (Hindi), and it covered this considerable distance within just 38 days. That is a remarkable accomplishment, and there is yet more to come. It has an open weekend ahead of it, and with discounted ticket prices and promotional offers running, one may anticipate yet another increase in attendance by the end of Sunday.
With 1.07 crores coming in on Friday, the collections are back in the crores range, which is incredible. There has been an unexpected increase for the sixth week in a row, with last Friday's collections being 1.02 crores. In fact, between Saturday and Sunday of previous week, almost 4.50 crores were brought in, so it won't be all that shocking if the feat is repeated this weekend. The movie has made 529.96 crores in total across all languages, and it is presently in contention to surpass 540 crores lifetime.
Pathaan, an action-spy movie also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, is billed as SRK's triumphant return to starring role after an absence of more than four years and his first action movie after a career playing hearthrobs. Pathaan is directed by Siddharth Anand.
