Actor Shaam, who recently got on board for Thalapathy66, has begun shooting for the film. The actor shared the update on his social media page with a picture of the camera used for filing and merely captioned it, "#thalapathy66 #actorshaam #thalapathyvijay #shaam #shootday. The team is canning the portions in Hyderabad.
It was not long ago that Shaam had confirmed on his social media page that he was indeed part of the film after speculations were rife about his role in the project. He stated in a social media post that he was eagerly looking forward to working with Vijay. Taking to his Instagram page, Shaam wrote, “"LOOKING FORWARD TO WORK WITH THE ONE AND ONLY THALAPATHY. @#thalapathy66 #actorshaam #thalapathyvijay #shaam (sic)." Shaam is said to be playing Vijay's brother in the film.
Last evening, pictures of Thalapathy Vijay arriving in Hyderabad and travelling in a car had gone viral on the internet. In the meantime, ace comedian Yogi Babu, too has joined the sets in Hyderabad. The duo had worked together in films like Beast, Sarkar, Bigil and Mersal.
The film has Rashmika Mandanna playing the leading lady. This is her second film in Tamil and the first time that Rashmika is teaming up with Vijay. She had made her Tamil debut opposite Karthi in Sulthan (2021). The shoot had begun last month with a formal puja ceremony in Chennai. Music for the film is by Thaman and the movie is bankrolled by popular Tollywood producer Dil Raju.
Interestingly, Shaam and Vijay had earlier shared screen space way back in 2000 in SJ Suryah’s directorial debut Kushi. Shaam had made a cameo in the film as Vijay’s friend. Later, the model-turned-actor went on to make his debut as a lead actor with Jeeva's 12B (2001). He was paired opposite Simran and Jyotika, the two hot-shot stars of the '90s.
