Shaakuntalam press meet: Samantha gets trolled by a journalist, Dil Raju defends her

Star heroine, Samantha is ready with her new film Shaakuntalam which is all set to release on the 14th of this month. Until now, the Telugu promotions were quite dull and finally, Samantha met the press and sat for a question-answer session in Hyderabad. Accompanying her were the film's director Gunasekhar and producer Dil Raju.

The media folks did not shy away and kept on asking Sam why she has neglected the Telugu promotions of Shaakuntalam time and again. One of the journalists even quoted how she speaks so freely in all her Bollywood interviews and even answers questions related to personal life but when it comes to Telugu media, she avoids them totally.

Yet another journalist directly asked her, saying Shaakuntlam is about a husband leaving his wife and whether her personal life helped her to understand the character better. All these questions made Samantha really uncomfortable and she felt cornered. But producer Dil Raju quickly came to her rescue and said "Stars can’t open up in front of Telugu media as they are too famous here. If they make any wrong statement here, it becomes viral".

But Samantha did not shy away and replied to the journalist in a confident manner "I don’t think in Telugu so I can’t speak well. When it comes to Hindi media, they ask me questions in English which is my thinking language and I feel comfortable. But I've never said ’No Comment’ or ’No’ to any journalist here in Hyderabad".

In a way, it was evident that Samantha was not comfortable with all the questions posed. Bu she held her head high and put up a smiling face and spoke highly about the film. A special premiere of the film was also arranged for a few people in Hyderabad and the response has been decent.
