SRK's cinematic comeback in 2023
After an absence of more than four years, fans of Shah Rukh Khan have been treated to not one but two box office smashes this year: Pathaan and Jawan. However, they still want more of him. Dunki his third and last film of the year, will open in theatres ahead of the Christmas 2023 weekend on December 22.
Teaser unveiling details and expectations
As per reports in Hindustan Times, the teaser for Dunki will be released tomorrow November 2, at 11 a.m. in honour of SRK's birthday. The story of Rajkumar Hirani's first film with Shah Rukh, how he'll look, and who else will be in the film besides the lead actors, SRK and Taapsee Pannu, are all questions that the teaser is expected to answer. There have been rumours that Dharmendra, Satish Shah, Kajol, Vicky Kaushal, and perhaps Dia Mirza, Parikshit Sahni, and Boman Irani will make appearances in the film.
Past opportunities and SRK's connection to 3 Idiots
The actor and the filmmaker were famously supposed to unite in Hirani's 2003 directorial debut, Munna Bhai MBBS. However, because of Shah Rukh's health concerns, Sanjay Dutt was ultimately cast in the lead role. He took on the role once more in Raju Hirani's sequel, Lage Raho Munna Bhai in 2006.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh was offered the part of Aamir Khan in the hit film 3 Idiots. Shah Rukh later labelled himself "the fourth idiot" for dropping out of the film on an episode of Koffee with Karan. When Shah Rukh and Raju Hirani confirmed Dunki together last year, fans went wild.
