Selfish: Love Today girl Ivana set for Telugu debut opposite Varisu producer's nephew Ashish

Ivana, who shot to fame with the multi-lingual hit romance drama Love Today, is now awaiting the release of GV Prakash Kumar’s Kalvan and the Harish Kalyan starrer LGM, bankrolled by cricketer MS Dhoni. Meanwhile, Dil Raju, the producer who distributed the Telugu version of Love Today, is set to introduce the young actress to Telugu audiences with his upcoming production.

The actress is officially on board for the second film of Dil Raju’s nephew Ashish, the romance drama Selfish. Confirming the news, the makers of the film unveiled a poster featuring the lead pair. Ivana plays a financial analyst in the entertainer and the poster showcases Ashish’s attempts to woo her and portrays her disinterest as well.

Kasi Vishal, a former associate of Sukumar, makes his directorial debut with Selfish. The backdrop of the poster indicates a Google search with the words ‘Reserved for my love…’ Ashish’s portions in the film are set in old city in Hyderabad. He’s cast as a typical old city boy who is self-centered. Ashish plays a guy who’s desperate to lead a rosy life without experiencing any lows.

For the uninitiated, Ashish forayed into Telugu cinema with the college drama Rowdy Boys, which released for Sankranthi 2022. Dil Raju and his brother Shirish are bankrolling the film under Sri Venkateswara Creations in collaboration with Sukumar Writings; the latter banner also scored a hit recently with Sai Dharam Tej’s Virupaksha.

Harshith Reddy, Hanshitha Reddy and Ashok Bandreddy are co-producing the film. S Manikandan, the cinematographer for Adivi Sesh’s crime thriller Hit 2 and Venkatesh’s upcoming film Saindhav is the cinematographer. Mickey J Meyer is the composer and Chandrabose is the sole lyricist. Prawin Pudi edits the film for which Kiran Kumar Manne is the art director. Selfish’s shoot is currently progressing in Hyderabad.
