Sehnoor on her new web series Fasal: ‘It celebrates the strength of a woman’

The upcoming series is directed by Mehraaj Singh, while it features debutante Chandan Gill as the lead

Best known for her performance in Bhojpuri web series Prapanch and in the music video Badan Pe Sitare alongside Asim Riaz, singer-actress-turned-producer Sehnoor is poised for the release of her new web series Fasal describing it as a show “celebrating the strength of a woman through her resilience, determination and unwavering spirit”.

While Sehnoor is the producer of the upcoming series, it is written by Taj and directed by Mehraaj Singh. Debutante Chandan Gill is playing the lead, while the cast also includes Shweta Sharma and Ashish Duggal. The team recently launched a new poster of Fasal.

It shows a young rural woman holding a gun, symbolising her readiness to take charge of her own life and fight against any injustice done to her. The injuries on her face suggest a turbulent journey that she has undertaken, highlighting the hurdles she has overcome to emerge stronger. The use of the dark and gritty visual promises a realistic portrayal of the challenges faced by her.

Speaking about the new series, Sehnoor said, “Fasal masterfully captures the resilience, determination and unwavering spirit of a woman, as she navigates the challenges and dangers that lie ahead. It’s a series that celebrates the strength of women. I am very driven towards this, as the project is underway. My team has put in a lot of effort into it, and we can’t wait to bring the new show to the audience.” Fasal is presented under the banner of Volume Nine Films.

Sehnoor had earlier said that through Fasal they aim at offering a fresh perspective on storytelling, by tackling a relevant theme and exploring the intricacies of women-centric content. “I always wanted to work on a story that deals with the problems that women face in their life. And through Fasal, we have tried to make a story that will entertain the audience as well as deliver a strong message that will surely leave an impression on everyone’s heart. Fasal is my baby, and I am looking forward to bringing out a complete masterpiece for the audience.”
