Sehari, that hit theatres earlier this month, was a rare urban romantic comedy that got its vibe and tone right. It was progressive, wacky and good fun without trying too hard. Starring Harsh Kanumilli, Simran Chaudhary in the lead, the film was written by the male lead himself and directed by Gnanasagar Dwaraka. Abhinav Gomatam, Praneeth Reddy Kallem, Akshithaa, Sneha Velidindi, Koti, Balakrishna, Rajeswari Mullapudi essayed key roles in the film as well. Now, the film is gearing up to entertain audiences on OTT. Sehari is all set to premiere globally on aha on February 25.
The story revolves around Varun, a confused youngster, who is yet to take charge of his life and lives in a happy-little cocoon with his friends and family. Though his love life with his college junior, Subbalakshmi, is heading nowhere, Varun is hopeful of marrying her soon. Reality hits him hard when she breaks ties with him and in a fit of rage, he asks his parents to find apt matches for him. Despite an awkward first meeting, Varun agrees to marry Alia, a family friend. In a strange turn of events, he realises he has the hots for Alia's elder sister Amulya, who's four years elder to him.
The film was bankrolled by Advaya Jishnu Reddy under Virgo Pictures. Prashanth R Vihari has composed the background score and the songs for the entertainer which has cinematography by Aravind Vishwanath and is edited by Ravi Teja Girijala. Composer Koti had made his acting debut in the film and received positive reviews for his performance from critics and audiences alike. At places, Sehari may appear to be inspired by Pelli Choopulu and Hasee Toh Phasee, but it has its heart at the right place and is certain to make for a good watch on the small screen.
