Filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy, who has a good following among serious Kollywood movie lovers, is ready with his next, Idimuzhakkam. The movie, starring GV Prakash in lead role, is said to be based on an incident which happened in Madurai several years ago. The film is expected to be released in theatres next year.

The director had a release earlier this year; Maamanithan, which starred Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie in lead roles, hit the screens in June after lying in the cans for more than a couple of years.

He has now come up with a surprise for Tamil cinephiles. He took to his Twitter page to announce that he is planning to make a sequel to his popular movie Neerparavai which was released a decade ago. Interestingly, today marks the film's 10th year anniversary.

Seenu revealed that the second installment will begin soon and thanked those who made the film a successful one critically and commercially. The project was bankrolled by Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies in 2012. Vishnu Vishal, Sunainaa, Nandita Das and Saranya Ponvannan among others played notable characters in the movie. The performances of actors and technical aspects of the film were highly appreciated.

The film emerged as a big break for Vishnu Vishal who teamed up with Seenu again for Idam Porul Yaeval. However, the movie, which was completed long ago, still remains unreleased. It is one of the few much-awaited Tamil films which has been lying in the cans for a long time.

It looks like Seenu is likely to rope in the same technicians for the sequel of Neerparavai as well. Balasubramaniem and NR Raghunanthan, who worked in the decade-old project as its cinematographer and music director, will be coming on board for the second part, too.
