Second song from late Puneeth Rajkumar’s James to be released on March 11

Ahead of the film’s release on the late Power Star’s birthday on March 17, the lyrical video of the second song will drop at 11.11 am

Kannada cinema’s Power Star, the late Puneeth Rajkumar’s last commercial film, James , is set to release on his birthday, March 17. With just about 10 days to go, the team of the film, led by director Chethan Kumar, are leaving no stone unturned to let the actor’s fans know what to expect. On The filmmaker, who has already released a teaser and a lyrical video of the actor’s introduction number – Trademark song, will present yet another song on March 11 at 11.11 am. While the team has not revealed which song it will be, the buzz is that this time they will release a lyrical video to the Salaam Soldier song, given that the poster features a shot of Puneeth in army fatigues.

Produced by Kishore Pathikonda, James is being released in five languages – Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. While MR Charanraj has composed the songs, V Harikrishna has joined him on the background score of the film, which was recently censored with a clean U/A certificate. The film, which has Priya Anand as heroine, also has Sarath Kumar, Tilak Shekar, Mukesh Rishi, John Kokken, Srikanth and Anu Prabhakar Mukherjee, among others, on its cast.

James, was in production, with only two songs and post-production pending when Puneeth tragically passed away following a massive heart attack. At a recent press briefing, the team spoke at length about how each of them has been burning the midnight oil and working extra hard to ensure that they meet the March 17 date with audiences.

At the time of his death, Puneeth had not dubbed for the film, which was then later done by his brother and actor Shivarajkumar, who also plays a cameo in it. Incidentally, this will be the only film to have all three brothers, including Raghavendra Rajkumar, together.
