Are you afraid of clowns? Well, you’re not alone. There are a lot of people who find clowns much scarier than funnier. And if we talk about the shape-shifter joker from the 2017 slasher film ‘It’, then it’s definitely not a funny business.

Based on the 1986 novel of the same name by Stephen King, It chronicles the supernatural events in a fictional town called Derry, Maine. The Andy Muschietti directorial stars Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise, the shape-shifting clown with Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Jaeden Martell, Sophia Lillis, Wyatt Oleff, Jeremy Ray Taylor and Jackson Robert Scott in pivotal roles.

The horror starts within a few seconds of the film when the seven-year-old Georgie tries to float a paper boat on the streets on a heavily rainy day. The kid with a yellow jacket encounters a weird looking clown, Pennywise, inside the drainage when he tries to find his boat that went down the sewerage, and he never comes back home.

Georgie’s elder brother, Bill, is now on a spree to find him with a bunch of his teenage friends, who have been battling their personal issues as well.

During their not-so-fun-filled adventure, they all come across some bizarre and scariest encounters of their lives, which have been a few most horrifying cinematic experiences for the audience as well.

The projector scene bags one of the original scary scenes among the slasher films where the seven teenage friends witness Pennywise's sinister look on a gigantic screen on the garage wall.

The creepiest scene in the film is when the joker emerges from the deadlights in front of the only girl in the group, Beverly. As it catches her from the neck, his creepiest form gets revealed with eyes rolled back of his head and his mouth opens up showing the endless well of sharp teeth.

Another ghostly moment of the film is when all of them went inside a creepy looking house to find Bill’s little brother Georgie. Eddie falls on a table and breaks his arm, while Pennywise gradually crawls out of a fridge standing in front of the kid. The joker’s upside down contorted body coming out of the fridge and the creepy bone-cracking sounds are more than enough to make the scene a horrifying watch.

'It' has a barrage of terribly terrifying scenes that creeps the audience out and doesn't let you sleep for a few days. The young actors’ serious and apt performances have made the whole slasher film a nail-biting experience.

The movie is definitely a terrifying piece of work and makes for a perfect watch on a Halloween night.
