Scream 5 trailer release: The Ghostface is back with a slasher for another gruesome and bloodier spree

The film by Paramount Pictures brings back Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette for the reboot

The Scream franchise is back with yet another intriguing and horror tale of bloodshed and paranoia. Scream 5, technically just Scream, is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. This is the first film of the franchise that will not be directed by legendary filmmaker Wes Craven, who passed away in 2015.

Fans have been awaiting the film anxiously ever since it was announced and released the first images. The film is a sequel to the 2011 film Scream 4 which starred  David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Roger L. Jackson, and Marley Shelton. They will be reprising their roles in the upcoming horror movie.

The production house released the trailer today, promising an intriguing and engaging story and announced the release date of the film. The film will be out on January 14, 2022.

The film will also add some new characters played by Melissa Berrera, Jack Quaid, Kyle Gallner, Jenna Ortega, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar. The new and young characters seem to have some or the other link to the kills in the earlier movie, making them the targets this time.

The shooting for the meta slasher film took place in Wilmington, North Carolina last year.
