Actor Ajith Kumar is one of the celebrated actors in Tamil film industry, who also enjoys a massive fanbase. While it is no surprise that the actor's next film, Vidaa Muyarchi is one of the much-anticipated projects, scores of fans celebrated their star during the re-release of the 1999 romance thriller film Vaalee.
Starring Ajith in dual roles, Vaalee directed by actor-filmmaker SJ Suryah in his directorial debut, went on to become of the celebrated films in Ajith's career. After 25 years since its first release, Vaalee re-released in theatres on Friday (February 23).
Vaalee is the modern-day adaptation of Hindu mythical character and monkey king Vaalee. The film features Ajith in dual roles as twin brothers with Simran playing the female lead. The film revolved around twin brothers, with one of them who is deaf and mute lusting after his brother's lover. Vaalee also marked the debut of actor Jyothika who appeared in limited portions.

The film went on to become a massive commercial success. Thanks to its cult status, the film was released again on Friday, with many fans enjoying the film and celebrating their star. Sharing clips from the film, fans highlighted the acting prowess of Ajith and how the actor portrayed the antagonist with perfection. While a few called it a "cinematic experience", others rejoiced the film equivalent of FDFS celebrations.

Ajith, who was last seen in Thunivu, will be next seen in Vidaa Muyarchi. The film, which is anticipated to be an action thriller is directed by Magizh Thirumeni. The film is backed by Lyca Productions with Trisha said to be playing the female lead.

The shooting of the film is ongoing with major portions of Vidaa Muyarchi shot in Azerbaijan. Apart from Ajith and Trisha, the film also stars Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, and Arav, in the other pivotal roles. Anirudh Ravichander will be scoring the music for the film which has Nirav Shah as the cinematographer. Vidaa Muyarchi is expected to be released in big screens by the second half of 2024.
