Scoop
Prince Andrew's 2019 interview with Newsnight journalist Emily Maitlis took the internet by storm, and it did not disappoint. In the interview, Prince Andrew defended his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and responded to allegations against the prince himself made by one of Epstein's accusers, Virginia Giuffre. The interview received mixed reactions. Some praised Prince Andrew, while others criticized him for his lack of remorse or empathy for Epstein's victims. The interview also sparked renewed interest in the Epstein case, and led to calls for Prince Andrew to step down from his public duties.
Prince Andrew has never been charged with any crime, and he has denied all the allegations. However, the interview ruined his reputation and raised questions about his judgment. Now that infamous interview has been fictionalised by Netflix, and made a film on it, titled - Scoop. The biographical drama will be released on April 5, 2024, only on Netflix.
Gillian Anderson is seen in the interviewer’s role - Emily Maitlis. Hope you all remember Anderson from Sex Education series, where she played the role of lead character Otis Milburn’s mother, Dr. Jean F. Millburn. And Rufus Sewell is seen as Prince Andrew.
