The viewing patterns of audiences on OTT platforms can sometimes spring up many surprises. Even though there may be mixed responses about a movie or a show, what ultimately matters is the common man's verdict and the viewing metrics on the OTT platform. The beauty of the medium is that it caters to all kinds of audiences and their preferences. A perfect example of this is the direct-to-OTT release, 47 Days, the Telugu movie starring Satyadev Kancharana and Pooja Jhaveri, directed by Pradeep Maddali.
Critics didn't take a liking to the film that exclusively premiered on ZEE5 in 2020 but 47 Days was destined to get its due from audiences on a different OTT platform. 47 Days also made it to Amazon Prime Video in July this year and reportedly clocked over a million views within ten days of its release. Amazon Prime Video's vast subscriber base, Satyadev's growing popularity have contributed to its terrific show. The numbers didn't only surprise audiences but also one of its producers, (also actor and musician) Raghu Kunche.
Raghu Kunche took to Facebook to share his happiness. "A few surprises knock on your door when you least expect it to. 47 Days had released on Amazon Prime Video on July 10. The film originally premiered on ZEE5 in 2020 and streamed on the platform for a limited period before it went to Amazon Prime Video. I am still very surprised with the love that audiences have showered on our film in barely 10 days. The fact that I also produced and composed music for 47 Days has only multiplied my joy all the more. Thank you," he added.
47 Days is a story revolving around a suspended cop Satya. Satya gets a lead on a case that has a strange link to his better half's sudden yet mysterious death. While he starts to dig deep into the case, he invites more chaos into his life. The film also features Roshini Prakash, Satya Prakash, Hari Teja and Ravi Varma in key roles. Apart from Raghu Kunche, the film is produced by Sridhar Makkuva, Dabbara Sashi Bhushan Naidu and Vijay Donkada. The lead actor Satyadev's Thimmarusu, a remake of the Kannada film Birbal, had hit theatres on July 30.
