Directed by PS Mithran, Karthi’s Sardar 2 is yet to commence its shooting. Here are some key updates about the sequel

Karthi-starrer Sardar 2 has been one of the most talked about sequels of the Tamil actor in the recent past. The film, which is currently in its pre-production stage, is yet to give any official update. However, the plot of the film has been doing the rounds on social media. The upcoming film is set to centre around drug trafficking, according to a few reports. It is being said that the film will try to create awareness among the youth about how drugs affect society.
Although an official update is awaited to confirm this information, the plotline has fans drawing comparisons with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s LCU franchise, which also focuses on the mission of creating a drug-free society.
Earlier, it was reported that the film would commence shooting in February this year. However, it looks like the dates have been pushed further to mid-2024. It is reported that the film might begin rolling in June or July first week.

Yuvan Shankar Raja will be scoring the music for the film, replacing G V Prakash Kumar, who had collaborated for the first part. George C Williams, who did the cinematography for part one, will be returning for the sequel.
Directed by PS Mithran, the story of Sardar centred around a disgraced spy (played by Karthi) who returns from a long exile to stop the launch of a suspicious company that plans to spread toxic water across the country. The film upon its release received positive reception from the audience and critics, alike, who praised the actor’s transformation and the film’s fresh screenplay.
You can watch Karthi’s first part of Sardar on Aha. The movie features Karthi who plays dual roles in this spy-action drama, along with Raashii Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Pandey, Laila, Rithvik, Munishkanth, Avinash, Yugi Sethu and Balaji Sakthivel. The film is available for streaming on the platform in both Tamil and Telugu.
