Sarath Kumar; the first look

Looks like veteran actor Sarath Kumar is signing back to back projects now. Even as the magnum opus Mani Ratnam directorial Ponniyin Selvan, in which he will be seen in a pivotal role, is yet to announce its release date, he has a few films in his kitty. His first web series in Tamil, Irai, started streaming on aha Tamil a couple of days ago.

His Telugu web series, Parampara, had a premiere on Disney+ Hotstar a while ago. He was seen in a special episode in Bigg Boss Tamil as well sometime ago. Pamban, Pirandhal Parasakthi, Rendavathu Aattam and Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan are a few upcoming movies of his.

As if these aren't enough, the actor-turned-politician has now announced the title and first look of his 150th film. Titled The Smile Man, the movie to be directed by Syam and Praveen duo, has music composed by Gavaskar Avinash, cinematography by Sree Saravanan and editing by San Lokesh.

Produced by Salil Das of Magnum Movies, The Smile Man has screenplay and dialogues written by Anand. The project has gone on floors today and Sarath took to his social media page to unveil its first look. He tweeted, "Happy to associate with Magnum Movies for my 150th film, directed by @SyamPraveen2 titled as #THESMILEMAN (sic)."

The vague first look of the project has a few characters seen lying dead in a room under mysterious circumstances. Billed as a thriller, the movie has art direction by Jai Kanth.

Iniya and Sija Rose play crucial characters in the film. It is expected that more details on The Smile Man, including Sarath's character and appearance, will be revealed later by the makers. Meanwhile, Syam-Praveen's Memories, starring Vetri in the lead, is yet to hit the screens.
