Popular character artiste and celebrity manager Raja Ravindra, who has made a name for himself in cinema, television and on OTT in a career spanning over three decades, is playing a lead role in a family drama Sarangadariya. The film marks the directorial debut of Padmarao Abbisetti (a.k.a Pandu), while it’s bankrolled by Umadevi and Sarat Chandra Challapalli under Saija Creations.

The title poster, first look of the film were unveiled by Raj Tarun (whom Raja Ravindra manages) today; the latter conveyed his wishes to the team. “I hope the first-time director and the producer taste success with the film,” he said. The director Padmarao Abbisetti, while conveying his gratitude to Raja Ravindra and producers for supporting him through the making, thanked Raj Tarun for unveiling the poster.

In a feel-good and pleasant poster, Raja Ravindra is seated along with his on-screen wife and three kids. Srikanth Iyengar, Siva Chandu, Yashaswini, Moin, Mohit, Neela Priya, Kadambari Kiran, Manik Reddy, Anantha Babu, Vijayamma and Harshavardhan form the supporting cast of the film. V V S Vinay Kotti has written the dialogues for the drama while M Ebenezer Paul scores the music.

Rakesh Reddy is the editor and Arunachala Mahesh is the executive producer. Siddhartha Swayambhoo cranks the camera. Sarangadariya’s shoot was completed recently and the makers are looking to wrap up post-production at the earliest. The release date (expected to be out in December 2023 or early 2024) will be announced shortly. The film promises to be a clean, emotional family entertainer.

Some of Raja Ravindra’s noted appearances as an actor in recent times include Ramabanam, Mr Pregnant, Month of Madhu, Ammu, Oh Baby, Evaru, Acharya and DJ Tillu. He acted in popular Tamil films like Padayappa, Nattamai, Thozha and ventured into Kannada cinema too.
