Sara Ali Khan: Atrangi Re will always remain super special

Aanand L. Rai’s Atrangi Re starring Akshay Kumar, Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan made its long-awaited premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on December 24, 2021. Sara Ali Khan has now opened up about the movie, saying it will always be special.

As reported by Times of India, the actor said, “This film and my character, Rinku, will forever be a part of me somewhere. It has given me a lifetime of memories and will always remain super special.”

She also said that she cannot believe it has been a month since the movie has been released and that it is definitely overwhelming to see the love that has been pouring in for the film. She added that the feedback she has been receiving is humbling and motivating and that she is grateful for it.

Khan plays Rinku, a woman who is in love with a man named Sajjad, played by Akshay Kumar. She is, however, forcefully engaged to another man Vishu, played by Dhanush. Sajjid soon returns to her life and Vishu starts falling in love with Rinku, paving the way to an interesting love triangle.

Directed by Aanand L. Rai, this is the second time he is working with Dhanush after Raanjhanaa in 2013. Written by Himanshu Sharma, the romantic drama is produced by T-Series, Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films.

While the movie only received mixed reviews from the critics, the performances of the actors were praised by the critics and fans. The direction and music also received praise, while the screenplay of the movie received criticism.

Only her fifth movie as an actor, Khan was earlier seen in the comedy Coolie No. 1 with Varun Dhawan, before the release of Atrangi Re.
