The film, directed by Hemanth M Rao, also features Rukmini Vasanth and Chaitra Achar
Late last night, actor Rakshit Shetty posted online, “Uploading.... #SSE”. Shortly after, a brief teaser of the film, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, with a post that reads, ‘A decade later… another chapter?’, featuring Rakshit and Chaitra Achar, in what appears to be from the second half of the film, which is set 10 years after the events of the first half and has the actor in a bulkier avatar, dropped online. While the teaser doesn’t offer much and has Chaitra as Surabhi and Rakshit’s Manu on a bus, with the former leaning on him, what has audiences excited is the promise that came at the end that the film will be in theatres in July this year.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello (SSE) is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Rakshit’s second collaboration with filmmaker Hemanth M Rao, after Godhibanna Sadharana Mykattu, SSE has two leading ladies, Rukmini Vasanth and Chaitra Achar. The film, which went on floors in May 2021, took time in the making, with some pandemic lockdown interruptions, but also because it required Rakshit to have a massive physical transformation and gain a considerable amount of weight for the second half.
Speaking to OTTplay a couple of weeks ago, Hemanth had said that he was looking at wrapping up the film in a fortnight or so. Was last night’s teaser his way of letting audiences know that they are back on track and set to bring the film to theatres shortly?
Once he’s done with SSE, Rakshit is expected to jump head-long into his next directorial, Richard Anthony, which is being backed by Hombale Films. The actor-filmmaker, who was last seen in 777 Charlie, which released in June 2022, was also supposed to have a brief role in his home production Bachelor Party, as per the first poster that was released, but given that he’s been maintaining a certain look for SSE, owing to which he has not even been making many public appearances, it remains to be seen if he is still a part of that film.
As per Rakshit’s plan of action, his upcoming slate, after SSE, is a slew of directorials, starting with Richard Anthony, followed by a two-part Punyakoti and then, Midway to Moksha, which should keep him busy for the foreseeable future.
