Hemanth Rao likes to work with colour themes and with Sapta Sagaradaache Ello he achieved just how he wanted it to be
Side A was blue, while Side B is red
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B is only days away from hitting theatres. This time, the film is getting a simultaneous release in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam – markets where Side A was warmly received in theatres or after its OTT outing. For Side A, director Hemanth M Rao and actor-producer Rakshit Shetty had gone ahead with the Kannada version only initially, and hoped it would travel organically, which it did, but a little late in the day, owing to which a Malayalam theatrical release, for instance, did not happen. The team – Hemanth, Rakshit and the leading ladies, Rukmini Vasanth and Chaithra J Achar (who is part of the Side B mix only) – is currently travelling to promote the film, the first stop being Hyderabad, where Side A was warmly received.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B trailer: Oh no! Is Manu and Priya’s story really over?
During the Hyderabad promotions of Side B, Hemanth was asked about the distinctive colour palettes he’s chosen for the two parts of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello. Side A was blue, to denote that its more calm and serene and has a sense of relief, while Side B is red and stands for the turmoil, chaos and violence that will be a part of it. Incidentally, the two colours also have a connect with the leading ladies, said Hemanth. Priya (Rukmini) is blue, while Surabhi (Chaithra) is red. Side B, meanwhile, will have a revenge element, although it is not the only defining element.
In Side A, Manu and Priya became estranged because he chose to try and make a quick buck by owning up to a hit-and-run accident, he had nothing to do with. This plan, though, backfires for Manu, with the person who’d promised to pay him and take care of the case passing away and his folks then refusing to make good on this agreement. As a result, Manu ends up serving a 10-year sentence as the accident had resulted in the death of a man. In Side B, while Manu will continue to struggle to come to terms with the absence of Priya in his life, he is also set on destroying those who were instrumental in ruining his relationship.
