Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan could command more screens as part of its mega release, but Sapta Sagaradaache Ello can still be expected to hold its own.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A released on September 1 on the back of positive reviews that emerged from the preceding press/premiere shows. Most of those reviews highlighted Hemanth M Rao's poetic vision, the lead pair Rakshit Shetty & Rukmini Vasanth's performances and other aspects like music & cinematography. As a result, Kannada audiences were keen to know what this enterprising collaboration had in store for them and the same translated into encouraging box-office collections.

On its opening day of release, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello is said to have grossed a little over Rs. 2 crores but the positive word-of-mouth publicity would reflect in the following two days' collections, which took the total opening weekend tally close to Rs. 9 crores (nett collections being approx. Rs. 8 crores, according to sacnilk.com). The focus, though, would then shift to the first week of the theatrical run which, in most cases, decides how well a film would fare eventually.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A, as per the same trade reports, managed to earn about Rs. 1.3 crores (nett) on Day #4 or Monday, meaning that there was a slight dip in collections compared to the previous day. Day #5, too, saw a similar box-office performance which took the collections to Rs. 10.50 crores (net) in India.
But on a brighter note, the film has continued to retain the screens it started out with and as of today, it still boasts the top show count in premiere areas like Bengaluru and Mysuru. Of course, this could change once Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan arrives in theatres and starts to command more screens as part of its release, but Sapta Sagaradaache Ello can still be expected to hold its own.
