As part of the London Indian Film Festival, Ennennum will have its premiere on June 29 at BFI Southbank. The movie will also be screened at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival.
Ennennum (Now & Forever), Santhy Balachandran's most recent film, is scheduled to play at a number of film festivals soon. The actress expressed her happiness about the news on social media. As part of the London Indian Film Festival, it will have its international premiere on June 29 at BFI Southbank. The movie will soon have its European premiere at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival in the International Competition section.
“To me, Ennennum has been a gift that keeps on giving. Made against all odds by a tiny team of committed cinephiles, this ambitious little film asks some big questions about the nature of love,” she wrote on an Instagram post. The audience at the International Film Festival of Kerala 2023 had given the movie a resounding round of applause.
The film, which is set in a dystopian alternate present, examines the concept of immortality and how it affects interpersonal relationships both within and between societies. Shalini Ushadevi, who co-wrote the screenplay for Suriya's acclaimed movie Soorarai Pottru with Sudha Kongara, is the film's director.
Santhy disclosed in an interview with OTTplay that the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown hindered the film's production, even though shooting had begun in January of last year. This movie explores the potential effects of immortality on relationships from both a macro and a micro level. Ennennum plays the emotional fallout when the idea of living together "forever" becomes real in the movie, according to her.
The actress praised Shalini greatly and described her as an outstanding director. She continued by saying it was amazing to work with someone who is so transparent about what she does. Through her workshops, the actors were able to develop chemistry with one another. "It was one of the nicest sets I have been on, and everyone who worked on the project brought good energy," she continued.
