The actor was talking at the pre-release event of Arya-starrer Captain,
Arya and Santhanam
Santhanam, who was one among the guests at the pre-release event of Arya-starrer Captain, left everyone surprised when he expressed interest to join hands again with the latter. The duo had shared screen presence in a few films among which Boss Engira Baskaran and Raja Rani stand out owing to entertaining elements in them.
Santhanam revealed that despite him doing only hero-oriented roles for the last few years, he has been receiving offers from filmmakers to appear in cameo roles and double-hero subjects. Though such offers never attracted him, he said he is ready to share screen presence with Arya if someone comes up with an idea to make a sequel to Boss Engira Baskaran.
All praise for Arya's warm nature, Santhanam termed the former as his real friend and went on to say that he doesn't mind doing anything for him. He also recollected how Arya encouraged him to indulge in physical activities when he revealed his plans to him about taking up hero roles.
Santhanam added, "I remember telling Arya during the shooting of Boss Engira Baskaran that he should be doing more heavy action-oriented movies instead of comic capers, considering his inspiring physique and his love for fitness."
Captain revolves around a team of army members taking on an alien. Santhanam said that these kinds of unique concepts are what people have been appreciating of late, and showered praises on the team. He also appreciated Arya's conviction to turn a producer for the film.
Captain, directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan, is Arya's first release this year. He was last seen in Sundar C's horror comedy Aranmanai 3 which was released almost a year ago.
