Sanjay Dutt plays the main antagonist in Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 which has dominated the box office across the country
Sunjay Dutt has been in the limelight once again following the release of KGF: Chapter 2. The Bollywood star has now opened up about the difference between the South film industry and Bollywood these days.
Talking to Times of India, the actor asked why Bollywood has forgotten about the audience from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan who make up a large section of its audience and that he hopes that that trend comes back.
The actor also said that Bollywood earlier had individual producers which the corporatization of film studios has brought to an end and while the corporations are good, they should not interfere with one’s taste in movies.
Dutt further added that there were producers in Bollywood such as Gulshan Rai, Yash Chopra, Subhash Ghai and Yash Johar who had total faith in the filmmakers. “Look at the films that they have made. In the South they look at the script on paper, here, they look at the recovery figures on paper.” he said.
Dutt has become the centre of attention once again, this time following the release of the pan-Indian success, KGF: Chapter 2. The actor plays Adheera, the menacing main antagonist in the Kannada action entertainer.
“Sanjay Dutt makes Adheera look and feel menacing, aided immensely by Balaji Manohar’s vocals for the character, and his confrontations with Rocky, especially in the final moments, are, no doubt, among the best moments of the film.” reads the movie’s review on OTTplay.
KGF: Chapter 2 has crossed the Rs. 500 crore mark worldwide in just four days. The movie, which was released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi, is available in theatres around the world.
