Sangeetha Sringeri: Working with Rakshit sir on 777 Charlie was a big achievement for me

The actress says that working on the film was a learning experience and that any work she’s done since then has benefited from this stint.

Model-turned-actress Sangeetha Sringeri plays a pivotal role in Rakshit Shetty’s upcoming release, 777 Charlie. Sangeetha is Devika in the film, an Animal Welfare Board official and, going by the trailer of the Kiranraj K directorial, it would seem that she is also entrusted with the responsibility of checking in on the canine Charlie and if she is doing well in the company of her caretaker, Dharma (Rakshit). From the teaser or trailer so far, it is not clear if there is a romantic angle between her and Dharma. The role, says Sangeetha, happened to her after she spotted a casting call for the film on social media.

“The social media post had Rakshit sir and a small puppy in it and my immediate thought was that I had to be a part of this film because I am also quite the animal lover. After my TV series Har Har Mahadev, 777 Charlie was only the 2nd ever audition that I attended in my life. I came to Paramvah Studios’ office and auditioned for the role and the rest, as they say, is history,” she says.

Sangeetha adds, “Rakshit sir is known for making content-oriented films, so, working with him was a big achievement for me. When I signed up for the film, I was looking at it as a journey of a year, at the most. But then, I was made to sign a contract that prevented me from doing any other project for two years. At that point, I thought it was a fair call, because shooting a film involving a dog is time consuming. It has taken well over four years eventually. The journey was awesome and began with workshops for me, to get rid of any trace of my earlier character from the TV show. I had a lot of unlearning and learning in the process of becoming Devaki. I think I have learnt acting because of 777 Charlie and any work I have done since then has greatly benefited from my stint on the set of this film.”
