In an interview with the Times Of India, Sandeep was asked if he would make a film about Sushant Singh Rajput's life. To this, the filmmaker said, "Not at all. I think people should let him rest in peace. I will never make a film about his life. People have offered me a lot of money for the same. They don’t realise what his family, friends, and relatives must have gone through."

Sandeep further mentioned he didn't see Sushant's fans at the actor's funeral. According to him, SSRians weren't at the actor's house and hospital. He claimed he was standing there alone. Sandeep claimed that people targeted him and others to gain popularity on social media. The filmmaker felt that the saddest thing was how Sushant's family never came out in support of him (Sandeep).
