Samrat Prithviraj star Sonu Sood on pan India films: Language shouldn't be a barrier
The actor will share the screen with Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chhillar and Sanjay Dutt in the upcoming historical drama.

Be it Bollywood or south Indian cinema, Sonu Sood has made sure to bring his acting prowess to the screen with full vigour in every language. Sood, who will next be seen in Samrat Prithviraj, recently revealed his thoughts about the concept of pan Indian films, amidst the ongoing debate between north and south Indian films.
In a conversation with Pinkvilla, the actor talked about how he has always been a part of south Indian cinema, acting across languages such as Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. Sood talked about how he believes that ‘good cinema’ should be seen by everybody, and language should not be an issue. “Language shouldn't be a barrier where people are like, ‘I don't understand the language. I don't want to see that',” he said.

Sood talked about how south Indian films are doing well these days, and how a lot of Hindi films are also getting dubbed in south Indian languages. Sood said that this trend points to the belief that ‘entertainment has to reach every house’, and added the language in which a film is shot should not be important. This also puts a huge responsibility on the shoulders of filmmakers, who have to make good films if they want people to accept it. So better actors, writers, technicians etc should be prioritised, he said.
Sood was last seen in Acharya, sharing the screen with Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan. The actor will next be seen in Samrat Prithviraj, sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chillar and Sanjay Dutt. Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the historical drama will be released on June 3, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
