The movie, which also stars Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt, was already made tax free in Uttar Pradesh.
Akshay Kumar’s highly-anticipated historical war drama Samrat Prithviraj hit theatres today. As the movie looks to make an impression on the audience, the latest report is that it has been made tax free in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
The state government decided to give the movie tax free status on Thursday. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said over on Twitter, "The film on the life of great warrior Samrat Prithviraj in which Akshay Kumar is in the lead role is declared tax free in Madhya Pradesh so that maximum number of youths see the movie and learn about him and a feeling of love inculcate in them towards their motherland."
The movie was already made tax free in the state of Uttar Pradesh yesterday, after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended a special screening of Samrat Prithviraj. Among other members of the cabinet, the movie was also seen by Home Minister Amit Shah.
According to Shah, the movie is not only a story about a warrior, but also depicts the greatness of India’s culture. He also added that Samrat Prithviraj illustrates the Indian tradition of women being respected and empowered.
Akshay Kumar essays the role of the titular character, whose valour and morals will be on show in the historical war drama. Manushi Chhillar makes her acting debut in the movie, which also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana and Sakshi Tanwar.
With Manush Nandan and Aarif Sheikh works as the cinematographer and editor respectively, the movie has songs composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy. Backed by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films and directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the movie is now available in theatres.
