Reports were making the rounds that Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu were on the verge of separation. Now, the estranged couple confirmed the report by releasing a statement of them parting ways. Chaitanya and Samantha took to their social media pages via their statement revealed that after much 'deliberation and thought' they have come to this decision of divorcing from each other. For the uninitiated, Samantha became a household name recently with her stint on The Family Man 2 streaming on Amazon Prime Video. While Chay is riding high on the success of his latest outing Love Story.

Meanwhile, the statement read as "To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us."

It further read as "We request our fans, well-wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support."

Samantha and Chaitanya tied the knot in 2017. The estranged couple first worked together in Ye Maaya Chesave directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon which was released in 2010. They even featured in a special appearance in the original Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa which also hit the screens in the same year.

Samantha and Chaitanya have been paired opposite each other in a few films namely Majili which was released in 2019 and Autonagar Surya which hit the screens in 2014.

Interestingly, Chaitanya featured in a special appearance in two of Samantha starrer films namely Mahanati and Oh! Baby released in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
