Directed by Meghana Gulzar, Sam Bahadur also stars Sanya Malhotra, and Fatima Sana Shaikh in key roles.
Sam Bahadur, starring Vicky Kaushal opened in theaters today. The movie is based on the true story of Sam Manekshaw, who was the Indian Army's previous Chief of Army Staff. At the box office, Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sam Bahadur clashed. Early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk state that Sam Bahadur made Rs 6 crores on the first day of business. On Friday, the movie's Hindi occupancy rate was 15.88% overall.
About 1,03,192 tickets were pre-sold in Hindi, making almost Rs 3.05 crore of the total revenue. Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh play important parts in Sam Bahadur as well.
Nevertheless, Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is doing well at the box office thus far. The film is expected to earn much more higher than Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur. The initial estimates suggest Animal may make up to Rs 60 crores on its opening day. Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor all have significant parts in Animal.
