It’s been a field day for Dulquer Salmaan’s fans with the makers of his upcoming films releasing teasers, BTS videos and posters on the star’s birthday today. The latest is from Dulquer’s own production Salute, which is directed by Rosshan Andrrews.
The filmmaker released the poster on his social media, along with the caption, “Aravind Karunakaran… Keep going, entertaining all of us.” The poster was subsequently shared by the actor.
Salute, which is scripted by Bobby and Sanjay, has Dulquer playing the role of a cop named Aravind Karunkaran. It’s the actor’s full-length police role even though he had played an IPS officer at the denouement of Vikramadityan a few years ago.
The latest poster also revealed another look that the actor will be sporting in the film. Earlier, the makers had released a teaser as well as few photos of the character sporting a moustache. This poster has him with a beard too. Salute also marks the Mollywood debut of Bollywood actress Diana Penty. The film also has Manoj K Jayan, Saniya Iyappan, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy and Saikumar in pivotal roles.
While Dulquer had wrapped his portions for Salute in April, the team had completed shooting a few days ago in Hyderabad. In an earlier post, Rosshan had thanked the star for “elevating Aravind Karunakaran far beyond” what the scriptwriters and he had conceived. “Every gesture and mannerism you put in to make Aravind Karunakaran what he is, stays alive in my mind to the point of missing him even as I write this,” wrote the Mumbai Police director, in a post announcing that Dulquer had wrapped up his portions for the film.
Dulquer is currently shooting for his Telugu-Tamil-Malayalam trilingual, which is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi.
