Bobby and Sanjay’s most recent release was Kaanekkaane, which had Tovino Thomas, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead
While director Priyadarshan’s magnum opus Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham has been delayed for over a year now, the filmmaker has no dearth of projects. After the lockdown last year, he had completed Hungama 2, is directing two segments in Netflix’s anthology based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s stories and now also has another script written by Bobby and Sanjay in the pipeline.
The scriptwriters had revealed they are working on a Priyadarshan directorial to Kerala Kaumudi recently. It’s not confirmed whether the project is the boxing-based movie that the director and Mohanlal will be teaming up for next year. The duo had said that the cast of the upcoming movie is yet to be confirmed.
Bobby and Sanjay have also scripted Dulquer Salmaan’s Salute, which is directed by Rosshan Andrrews. The team completed the shoot of the film a month ago in Hyderabad. Dulquer plays a cop named Aravind Karunakaran in the movie, which will mark the Mollywood debut of Diana Penty. The film also has Saniya Iyappan and Manoj K Jayan as part of the cast.
Manu Ashokan’s Kaanekkaane was the latest release of the acclaimed screenwriters, who had written Take Off, Traffic and Uyare. The family drama-cum-thriller, which is streaming on Sony LIV, has Tovino Thomas, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Shruti Ramachandran.
Priyadarshan, meanwhile, is currently helming a segment with Biju Menon in the upcoming Netflix anthology based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s short stories. The featurette is based on the writer’s Shilalikhithangal. The veteran filmmaker is also rumoured to direct another segment with Mohanlal for the anthology. The latter will be based on the legendary scribe’s Olavum Theeravum, which was published in 1957.
