The Bollywood superstar's legal team issued a statement clarifying why the defamation case was filed against Kamaal R Khan,
A day after Kamaal R Khan (KRK) tweeted that he wouldn’t be “reviewing” any of Salman Khan’s movies in future after a defamatory case was filed against the former, the superstar’s team issued a statement clarifying why the case was filed.
The statement from DSK Legal, advocates for Salman Khan and his ventures, read, “Kamaal R Khan, the defendant, has put out a series of tweets and videos alleging that Salman Khan has sued him for defamation because the defendant reviewed the film, Radhe. This is incorrect.”
The team stated that the suit has been filed as KRK “has been publishing and endorsing defamatory allegations, including that Salman Khan is corrupt, that he and his brand Being Human are involved in fraud, manipulation and money laundering transactions, that he and Salman Khan Films are dacoits”.
The statement further added that KRK has been “spreading malicious falsehoods and defaming Salman Khan consistently over several months, clearly with a view to draw attention to himself”.
Salman’s team also said that KRK’s lawyer stated in court today that KRK “will not put any remarks of defamatory nature against plaintiff on social media till next date” and that the court had passed an order taking this into account.
After the superstar’s team had issued the statement, KRK tweeted, “I will never put any defamatory tweet against anyone ever. I have never done that, in the past also (sic).”
A few days ago, KRK shared the first page of the defamation notice that Salman’s team had sent him and also tweeted Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan, asking him to withdraw the case.
