The actor’s last full-fledged comedy was Ready,
Actor Salman Khan has always preferred action films over any other genre throughout his career but he’s been on the lookout for a comedy film over the last few months. A report by Pinkvilla suggests that Salman has initiated conversations with filmmaker Anees Bazmee for an out and out comedy. The shoot may commence by the end of the year.
The film will be bankrolled by Salman Khan Films in collaboration with Zee Studios and Murad Khetani. A source close to the movie told Pinkvilla that Salman Khan is open to do a comedy after Andaz Apna Apna, Biwi No.1, Judwaa, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, No Entry, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, Partner and Ready. He has been hunting for a good script for a long time and it looks like he has placed his bet on the right one.
The paperwork is still underway but we are excited to see Salman doing a comedy again! Murad was in touch with Salman for the official remake of the Vijay starrer Master. However, Salman had opted out of the project after trying to rework the script in Hindi. The source stated that Salman is no longer keen to act in remakes. Murad had tried roping in Salman a Korean remake after he backed away from the Master remake, but the actor rejected that offer too.
Salman and Anees have worked on blockbuster movies like No Entry and Ready in the past. Salman will play the role of Prem in their upcoming collaboration (he was named Prem in No Entry and Ready too). The movie will go on floors once Salman wraps up the shoot of Tiger 3. The script will be locked soon and Salman will take a final call shortly.
