Salaar is directed by Prashanth Neel while Dunki is helmed by Rajkumar Hirani.
An epic battle is expected to unfold at the Indian box office over the Christmas holiday weekend when Prabhas' crime-thriller Salaar and Shah Rukh Khan's comedy-drama Dunki open in theaters one day apart. Salaar will be released in theaters on December 22, while Dunki will be released on December 21. Both movies have seen a huge increase in interest from the public since advance bookings for them started.
Sacnilk.com reports that Dunki's advance booking (gross) is about ₹12 crore, while Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire's has already surpassed ₹18 crore.
Salaar has made over ₹14.07 crore in Telugu (2D) from 632687 tickets sold in 2537 shows, and ₹1.37 crore from 92338 tickets sold in 992 shows in Malayalam (2D). With 45756 tickets sold in 849 shows, the movie brought in ₹63 lakh in Tamil (2D), while with 10275 tickets sold in 103 shows in Kannada (2D), it brought in ₹18.8 lakh.

The movie brought in ₹2.04 crore in Hindi (2D) from 76188 tickets sold in 3134 showings. The movie made ₹23 lakh in Telugu (IMAX 2D) from 2774 tickets sold in 21 shows, and ₹79650 in Hindi (IMAX 2D) from 135 tickets sold in two shows. The movie has made ₹18.54 crore, according to the data, with 860153 tickets sold in 7638 shows.
Dunki has made ₹11.46 crore in Hindi (2D) thanks to 405373 tickets sold over 13286 shows.
The Dunki team, meantime, has told the distributors that they would prefer to have the four shows all to themselves rather than share a screen with Salaar. They also refuse to take any of the four shows if they are not provided with all four.

Under the direction of Prashanth Neel, Salaar features Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the key parts. Jagapathi Babu and Tinnu Anand play important parts as well.
About Dunki
In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, and Vicky Kaushal have significant roles in the movie Dunki. The film is directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
