Salaar, the most anticipated pan-Indian project of recent times has finally hit the theatres today. The action thriller, which is helmed by the renowned filmmaker Prashanth Neel, who is best-known for the KGF franchise, stars Telugu superstar Prabhas in the lead role. Prithviraj Sukumaran, the popular Malayalam actor-director is playing a pivotal role in the movie, which is set in the fictional city of Khansaar. After the first shows, Salaar has been receiving mixed to positive reviews from the audiences.

The Prashanth Neel directorial has been receiving mixed reviews from the netizens, after its initial shows. The Twitterati suggests that Salaar has some high-octane action sequences that provide some great moments of adrenaline rush. Prabhas has won hearts with his unmatched screen presence, but the actor’s dialogue delivery has been receiving flak. However, Prithviraj Sukumaran, who played Varada in the film, has won the hearts with his stellar performance. The netizens also suggests that the movie doesn’t fully succeed in emerging as a fulfilling theatrical experience, but only manages to give some occasional highs.

About Salaar

The action thriller, which marks Prashanth Neel’s first collaboration with both Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is touted to be an adaptation of the filmmaker’s debut film Ugramm. The movie revolves around the journey of two best friends named Deva and Varada, who eventually end up as the biggest enemies. Prabhas is appearing in the role of Deva in the movie, which features Prithviraj Sukumaran as Varada aka Varadaraja Mannaar, his best buddy and the future king of Khansaar.

Shruti Haasan is playing the role of Aadya in the movie, which features Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand, Bobby Simha, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Ramachandra Raju, MadhuGuruswamy, John Vijay, and others in the pivotal roles. Ravi Basrur has composed songs and the original score. Bhuvan Gowda is the director of photography. Ujwal Kulkarni handles the editing. Salaar is bankrolled by Vijay Kiragandur, under the banner Hombale Films.
