Earlier today, news broke that the much-awaited trailer of the Prashant Neel directorial will drop on December 1
KGF maker Prashant Neel’s much-awaited Salaar is, most definitely hitting theatres across the globe on December 22. There will be no more postponements, assures the banner, Hombale Films, which has now also confirmed that the trailer of the film will be released on December 1, following which the on-ground publicity will begin. Fans of the film’s leading man Prabhas have been waiting with bated breath for an update on Salaar and the news of the trailer was god-sent. There were some who also decided to have a few laughs on the subject, given the disappointment they met with after the ‘Jurassic Park’ teaser.
“Will the Salaar trailer be with Prabhas’ face or without?” asked one, while another chimed in, “Can we see Prabhas’ face in the trailer? Hope they don’t disappoint”. Another wrote, “Why so soon? We were expecting it on December 21”. It may be noted that barring the posters, there’s been no official publicity material featuring Prabhas in full frontal view. Even the teaser did not have one decent shot of the actor, which irked fans even more because they’d woken up early to catch the drop at 5.12 am.
The film that’s coming out on Dec 22, Salaar: Ceasefire, is only the first part in the Salaar saga. It was initially meant to release on September 28, but was pushed ahead at the last moment, reportedly owing to delays in the VFX work on the film. The film is rumoured to be the Telugu remake of Prashant’s directorial debut Ugramm, which he has now made on a much bigger and better scale. Salaar also has a massive ensemble cast, including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Pramod, Eashwari Rao, Shriya Reddy, among others. The film has Prashant’s trusted lieutenants Bhuvan Gowda and Ravi Basrur handling cinematography and music, respectively.
Salaar teaser: Ugramm remake theory gains traction yet again among fans
After foregoing a solo release window on September 28, Salaar is now pitted against Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki for a share of the Christmas box office market. Ever since the clash was confirmed, fans of both actors have been involved in mud-slinging, with one set going on about Salaar and Ugramm, and the other that Dunki is either based on the Malayalam film CIA or the Spanish film Desierto.
Move over CIA, now Salaar fans claim Dunki is a remake of THIS movie
