It’s one of the most anticipated teasers and now we know when it will be here. Hombale Films will present the teaser of director Prashant Neel’s Salaar, which has Prabhas in the lead on July 6 at 5.12 am. For several months, fans have been asking the makers about the teaser and were hopeful that it would be bundled with the actor’s last release, Adipurush. But there was not even a peep from the team. It was, however, widely speculated that July is when the Salaar teaser would be released, what with the film less than three months away. Last evening, there were murmurs of July 6 being the date and moments ago, Hombale Films confirmed the same. Director Prashant Neel, we hear, has been working with music man Ravi Basrur on the background score of the teaser over the last few days.

Salaar, according to the makers, is a tale about the most violent man, and pairs Prabhas with Shruti Haasan. The film has an ensemble cast including names like Jagapati Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Pramod, Sourav Lokesh and Eashwari Rao, among others. In the past, there has been speculation about Salaar being a part of the KGF universe, given that Eashwari Rao was in the Yash film as well. However, the stronger rumour, which the team has refuted in the past, is that Salaar is Prashant’s updated version of his directorial debut Ugramm.

Will the Salaar teaser finally reveal what’s been rumoured all along?

Salaar’s latest leaked picture convinces netizens even more that it is the remake of Ugramm

In earlier interviews, Prashant has been quoted as saying that his biggest learning from the making of Ugramm was that he should have made it with a bigger star. The film, which Prashant had produced himself, did not make him much money and took many years in the making, but was critically acclaimed. According to multiple sources, Salaar is Prashant’s much bigger version of Ugramm and could include portions of the story he had planned for a sequel called Ugramm Veeram. Even Ravi Basrur had once said that it was public knowledge that Salaar is the Telugu remake of Ugramm.
