The much-awaited Telugu movie Salaar - Part One: Ceasefire, which features rebel star Prabhas and Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles, is now available in the digital space. The action movie is currently streaming in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada on Netflix.
The film is directed by the critically acclaimed Prashanth Neel, best known for the hit KGF series starring Kannada actor Yash.
Salaar had a fantastic theatrical performance considering the craze among fans for the Baahubali star and Prashanth Neel’s filmmaking style, making it the highest-grossing Telugu film in 2023. The action movie's OTT release on Netflix has been previously disclosed by the producers.
The film is set in the fictional city-state of Khansaar and centres on the friendship between Varadha, the prince of this state, and Deva, a tribesman. Varadha seeks Deva's assistance to take Khansaar's throne from his father's relatives and ministers when they plot a coup to seize power.
But their bond takes a dangerous turn, and they become rivals. The film offers a compelling story set against a dark and dystopian backdrop in Khansaar, promising a thrilling time for viewers with a number of gripping action sequences.
The cast, which includes Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinnu Anand, and other well-known actors, contributes to the film's dynamic performance.
The film is also billed as a two-part epic. The first installment hit the big screen on December 22. Although Salaar Part 2 has not yet begun filming, the production team has revealed that it will most likely begin filming after a brief break from their current project. At the conclusion of the movie, the title of the second installment—Salaar - Part 2 Shauryanga Parvam—was disclosed.
Vijay Kiragandur bankrolled this action film under the banner of Hombale Films. The director himself has penned the screenplay for this movie. Kannada film Ugramm-fame Bhuvan Gowda has helmed the camera work for Salaar - Part One: Ceasefire.
