Vijay Kiragandur recently divulged a few key details about their much-anticipated Hindi debut
Vijay Kiragandur and Hombale Films are forging on with great gusto. Following a rather eventful 2022 at the movies, the Bengaluru-based production house is now geared up to take on bigger challenges in the entertainment sector. And Kiragandur's recent announcement, wherein he declared that Hombale Films will be investing Rs. 3000 crores in the next five years to back films of all kinds, only goes on to highlight that they are all quite in the mood to up the ante.
Hombale's next slate of films will see them venturing out into other south Indian film industries with three projects in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam already underway. Salaar their Telugu-Kannada bilingual which is mainly a pan-India film, extends their extremely fruitful collaboration with Prashanth Neel and with someone like Prabhas a part of the equation, the prospects are, indeed, exciting and huge. Hombale Films is currently working with Keerthi Suresh on a Tamil project titled Raghuthatha while Dhoomam, their maiden Malayalam venture (directed by Pawan Kumar & starring Fahadh Faasil), was recently concluded and is now in the post-production stage.
With Dhoomam being a crime thriller, Raghuthatha touted to be a women-centric comedy and Salaar hailed as the next biggest action entertainer of the likes of KGF 2, Hombale Films is slowly dabbling in every form and genre to expand their range as creators. They are also working with Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran on his next directorial titled Tyson with another Tamil project announced with Soorarai Pottru director Sudha Kongara.
But what about the Hindi Film Industry? With the production house already having found some kind of footing in Bollywood because of the stellar success of K.G.F: Chapter 2, one reckons that they would be granted an easier entry. However, Hombale Films and Vijay Kirangandur are proceeding with caution, we learn, and that their foray into Hindi cinema will be one of prudence.
